There is plenty to keep you occupied in Norfolk this summer - the best part being that it is all right on your doorstep.

Due to there being so much going on, it would be impossible to list everything, so here are just a few highlights to look forward to.

One date for the calendar is June 15 to 18, as on this weekend Norwich's very own Bierfest is coming to Chapelfield Gardens.

Up to 10,000 people of all ages are expected to attend so they can enjoy the beer, food and market stalls.

So, whether you want to enjoy a bratwurst, try some specially-brewed Bavarian beers, or just explore the fun fair, this event is for you. More information can be found here.

The Royal Norfolk Show is one of the county's main attractions and has been running since the mid-nineteenth century.

Almost 100,000 people enjoy the festivities each year and this summer it is running on June 28 to 29. The agricultural show features some of the best food and drink produced both across the county and the country.

It makes an excellent day out and caters brilliantly for families. There really is something for everyone: art to look at, shops to browse, show jumping to watch, animals to pet, the list is endless.

This summer, Norfolk will also boast a fantastic array of musical entertainment across the county.

One of Britain's most acclaimed bands, Elbow, will play Thetford Forest on June 29.

This follows the release of their latest number one album Little Fictions.

Support includes Steve Mason, previously of The Beta Band, who always provides evocative and energetic live performances. Tickets can be found here.

Just before this, on June 26, The Flaming Lips play the University of East Anglia's LCR. This American psychedelic-rock band feature some of the wackiest and most original concepts in contemporary music, with the lead, Wayne Coyne, often appearing on stage riding a unicorn.

However, if instead you are feeling funky, then stop by OPEN Norwich on June 6.

Here, Craig Charles, the former Red Dwarf star and current BBC Radio 6 Music presenter, and his Funk 'n' Soul Club make their return to Norfolk's capital and are sure to do so in their usual spectacular fashion.

If instead you are waiting for a location-based adventure game to draw you in, like Pokémon Go did with many people last year, then CluedUpp is for you.

This crime-solving game requires teams of people to scout the streets of Norwich for clues and interview virtual-suspects in order to solve a mystery. This can be done via an app for mobile phones, or a paper-based version.

The Norwich date for this nationwide game is June 17. So whether you are an amateur-sleuth or a seasoned, hard-boiled detective, this game will likely provide you and your friends with a fantastic source of entertainment. For more information, visit the link here.
