• The Tolhouse Gaol, Great Yarmouth
Built roughly 800 years ago, The Tolhouse has a unique history, being a former merchant's house and later a courthouse and prison. Throughout the years, the unique building has been home to pirates, robbers, murderers and those accused of practicing witchcraft and today tells the story of crime and punishment in Great Yarmouth. The centuries old prison cells are bound to provide the ideal space for those looking for something completely out of the ordinary and intimate for their wedding day.
• Thursford Collection
When you think of Thursford, your first thought may be of the attraction's annual Christmas Spectacular show and not of weddings, but their Garden Pavilion is fully licensed for civil weddings and makes for an enchanting venue. The space can hold up to 240 guests and is also ideal for wedding receptions, with a marquee boasting floor-to-ceiling views of the striking grounds which feature a rose gazebo, water fountain and beautiful flowers.
• Norwich Puppet Theatre
Take centre stage on your big day at Norwich Puppet Theatre, one of only two dedicated puppetry venues in the country. Housed within the Grade I listed church of St James Pockthorpe, the outside of the building screams 'wedding venue', while the inside, is anything but traditional. The converted theatre offers ceremonies in its main auditorium with seating for up to 150 people and is bound to make you and your partner feel like superstars on your big day.
• The Boathouse, Ormesby St Michael
When it comes to Norfolk, it doesn't get any prettier than the designated areas of Natural Beauty on the Norfolk Broads. Set on Ormesby Broad, The Boathouse is a romantic venue on the waterside with a ceremony room that can accommodate up to 120 people seated. The decor is modern and cool, with calming colours. A reception room and private bar space are also available as well as a decked area where guests can enjoy the stunning views.
• Norwich City Football Club, Carrow Road
NCFC fans are sure to rejoice over this unlikely wedding venue which will allow them to easily combine the two things they love most in the world - their significant other and their favourite football team. The stadium can provide both civil services and receptions and also offer first-class food courtesy of Delia's Canary Catering, with Delia herself coordinating the menu. Unique packages from 40-400 guests are available or a bespoke package can be arranged to ensure every detail is as desired.
• Great Yarmouth Racecourse
A civil ceremony can be held at Great Yarmouth Racecourse inside one of their modern suites, which will include room floristry and decoration, unlimited use of the course for photographs, dressed seating for the congregation, free parking, an interview room prior to the wedding and a wedding co-ordinator. Receptions can also be held at the course, in the Lord Nelson Grandstand or in a marquee, where a PA system, dance floor, use of outdoor patio and lawn areas will be provided.
• Cinema City, Norwich
You've found that movie worthy romance, so where better to celebrate it than at the pictures? Cinema City, an independent cinema in the heart of Norwich will allow you to do just that and is available to hire for both weddings and receptions. The Dining Rooms restaurant bar, conference room, panelled room to Screen 1 and the auditoria are available as combined hires and the state-of-the-art projection and sound equipment allows for a range of possibilities to enhance your special day, including Skype relay to include loved ones abroad and a screening of your favourite film or a personal video during the ceremony.
• Thetford Forest
Get back to nature with a wedding at Oak Lodge where you can say your vows in the serene setting of Thetford Forest, surrounded by stretches of trees and private grassed area. The quirky one level building is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and receptions can be provided by Churchill Catering LTD.
