Lifeboatmen tonight stopped a fishing boat running aground after it developed engine problems.

The crew of the Hunstanton lifeboat, Spirit of West Norfolk, went to the aid of the stricken vessel after being alerted by Yarmouth Coastguard at around 6pm.

The fishing boat, which been on its way from Lowestoft to King's Lynn, was drifting towards the shore off Hunstanton after developing fuel problems.

There were two people on board the boat which was towed out of danger, before being handed over to another fishing boat, the Sunny Morn, which towed her back to King's Lynn.
