Jim Davidson.

Comic Jim Davidson gave Cromer's lifeboat crew something to smile about at the end of his show which kicked off the year's entertainment at the Pier Pavilion.

Coxswain John Davies, who was among 14 crew who went to see the show, was invited on stage by the comedian who asked the audience to donate any spare cash.

The result was £327, which was 'a terrific on the spur response' said lifeboat operations manager Richard Leeds.
