Ipswich: Footballer Paul Taylor admits assaulting doorman

Footballer Paul Taylor is to be sentenced later this month after admitting assaulting a doorman in a pub brawl.
Ipswich Town striker Taylor of Ashton Close, Rendlesham, pleaded guilty to assaulting Shaun Grey causing actual bodily harm in a late night incident at the Robert Ransome pub in Tower street, Ipswich on October 16 last year.
Also before Ipswich Crown Court today was Olatunde Ademuyiwa, 24, of Liverpool who also admitted assaulting Mr Grey causing him actual bodily harm.
Ademuyiwa also admitted an offence of assault by beating on October 16 on Gary Harper
Both men denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on Mr Grey and these pleas were accepted by the prosecution.

Judge Rupert Overbury adjourned sentence until June 25 for pre sentence reports to be prepared on the men.
He said the fact he was adjourning sentence for probation reports was no indication as to the likely sentence.

'It is a matter for the sentencing judge,' said the judge.
Both men are on conditional bail and are not allowed to go to the Robert Ransome pub.
Taylor, who has previously played for Chester City and Peterborough United, signed for Ipswich Town in August 2012 in a three year deal worth an estimated £1.5 million.
