Simon Munday, their principal trumpet and brass and wind contractor is Sheringham born and bred, while Justin Pearson, general manager and artistic director, has owned a cottage in North Norfolk for the last 25 years.

They will join the orchestra at The Great British Prom at Blickling Park on Saturday, August 12.

The NSO make their debut on the National Trust estate to celebrate British music from across the home nations. They will be joined by Classical Brit Award winning Welsh male vocal group Only Men Aloud, Soprano Annette Wardell and a traditional pipe band, for performances of Proms favourites, closing with a spectacular firework display.

The 50-piece symphony orchestra will be conducted by Anthony Inglis, who has conducted more concerts at the Royal Albert Hall than any other living conductor.

Justin said: 'When we were invited to play at Blickling, it was like being asked to come home to perform.

'The National Symphony Orchestra is thrilled at the prospect of performing this year's Blickling Proms, we have always enjoyed a very special rapport with audiences in Norfolk and I feel sure that the attractive programme, especially devised for this year's concert, will delight.'

The NSO is renowned for being one of the very best orchestras in the country and has performed Opera Evenings with artistes such as Dame Kiri Ta Kanawa and Lesley Garrett.

Justin added: 'We shall faithfully recreate the buzz of the Last Night of the Proms under immense Norfolk skies, thrilling to 1812 Overture, being charmed by the dazzling diva Annette Wardell, an entire band of pipers, fireworks, Only Men Aloud and a full symphony orchestra.'

They will bring the first half of the open-air concert to a memorable close by marching through the centre of the crowd.

The second half of the show will see a fabulous rendition of all the Proms favourites including 'Rule Britannia', 'Land of Hope & Glory' and British anthem 'Jerusalem' before a fireworks spectacular over the lake.

There will be a magnum of champagne for the best dressed British iconic character at the event which is part of a proms double-bill on the National Trust estate, against the backdrop of Blickling Hall, near Aylsham, over the weekend of August 11 and 12.

The National Symphony Orchestra isn't the only orchestra set to perform at Blickling this summer.

The Urban Soul Orchestra will perform on the opening night of the proms weekend, with the return of Classic Ibiza on Friday, August 11.

It will perform classic Ibiza anthems under the stars, with DJ Goldierocks and vocalists Max Barnes-Davy, Jina Burrows and Roo Savill at Norfolk's biggest summer dance party.

Reflectong on the success of the inaugural event last year, USO founder Stephen Hussey said: 'The best thing about performing Classic Ibiza last year was the dramatic backdrop for the set, particularly when the sun went down over the grounds and the beat picked up as the music moved into the dance set. The laser show against the Blickling skyline was also stunning and really set the Ibiza vibe.'

And he added: 'We're really looking forward to returning and putting on another fantastic show.'
