Extra tickets will be available for Sir Elton John's concert next month at Holkham Hall bringing the total gate up to 20,000 people.

Huge demand prompted Lord Coke to apply for an increase in capacity on the licence for the event on June 14 making it one of the biggest concerts ever seen in the county.

And if any added incentive was needed to apply for tickets, the publicists have announced multi-talented actor and singer Richard Fleeshman will be Sir Elton's special guest for the evening.

Richard, who is famous for roles in Coronation Street and the current BBC hit series All The Small Things, has supported Sir Elton on his last two tours and the pair co-wrote Richard's new single Can You Hear Me? which was released on Monday.

He said: 'Being asked to support Elton the first time on his UK stadium tour was incredible for me. Then having played some dates with him on the Red Piano Tour, it's a real compliment to be invited back for the third time. I can't wait to get back onstage.'

Concert promoters Marshall Arts are understood to be working with Holkham on a plan for easing traffic problems in and out of the estate. The concert arena will open at 3pm, with car parking opening even earlier. Richard Fleeshman is due on stage at 5pm followed by Sir Elton at 6pm. The show has been scheduled to finish at 9pm to allow the audience plenty of time to get home.

A Norfolk police spokesman said officers from local Safer Neighbourhood teams will be attending alongside members of the Special Constabulary in a bid to offer any assistance needed with security and to tackle any issues that may arise during the course of the evening.

Barrie Marshall, of Marshall Arts, said they were all delighted with the response to the show.

He said: 'We thought that Holkham Hall, on the beautiful Norfolk coast, would be a spectacular venue for Elton this summer, and the music-loving public are in agreement.

'Even though times are a little tougher for everyone this year, people are still looking for an exciting evening's entertainment and this is what's on offer here. Elton puts on a hell of a show. It's just hit after hit after hit, so we know that it's going to be a very special evening and everyone will have a great time. Anyone who was lucky enough to have seen him perform at Carrow Road a few years ago will tell you that.'

Concert-goers are invited to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the al fresco evening on the historic cricket ground next to the Hall.

Although a picnic event, a good selection of food and drink will also be available within the concert arena.

Tickets for this unreserved event are priced at 60 with a limited number of premium hospitality tickets available.

Lord Coke said: 'There should be plenty of space for everyone wanting to buy tickets. We believe the early start time will appeal to a wide age group and we are looking forward to a great evening of entertainment at Holkham.'
