Scenes for the film, Fighting With My Family, were shot in Norwich and Great Yarmouth back in April with director Stephen Merchant and his production crew.

In an episode of former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia's podcast, Paige, real name Saraya-Jade Bevis, said she 'cried her eyes out' when she watched it for the first time.

'Obviously it was the story of my family, which was beautiful, and it's about a close family,' the 25-year-old said. 'It's not just a wrestling story, it's very versatile, it's very open, it's incredible and I couldn't asked for a better cast.'

The film, produced by Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, stars Games of Thrones actress Lena Headey, Vince Vaughn and Florence Pugh, who portrays the WWE Divas Champion.

Paige is not in the film but revealed members of her family got to be extras in it.

'They (the crew) all started coming over to England to film and they (her family) all have extra parts in it,' she said. 'They were talking to me everyday while they were filming it in Norwich.'

Gentleman's Walk, Mousehold Heath and Joyland's American Family Diner in Great Yarmouth as locations for the movie.

'This was going to be an indie film, it wasn't going to be huge, and its now an international sensation, it's turned into this global thing,' Paige said. 'I can't wait for people to see it as it's also good for non-wrestling fans and in pre-screening it got higher scores than most movies and people just loved it.'

The Rock said he had first become aware of Paige, whose father Ricky Knight owns World Association of Wrestling in the city, while shooting one of the Fast and Furious films in London in 2012 when he 'stumbled' upon a documentary about her family, which also includes her wrestler brothers.

He informed Paige of the project moments after he told her she would be debuting on WWE.

A release date for the film has not been announced but it is believed to be out next year.

Last month Paige made a surprise return to WWE Raw after more than a year out of the ring.

It came after a period of troubles, including injuries and suspensions.
