A group of writers will be taking part in a special event this week celebrating a poet who was inspired by the art and landscape of East Anglia.
R.F. Langley, who died in 2011, lived in Suffolk and wrote frequently about the medieval churches in the region. He was also a keen birdwatcher and visitor to the art collections at Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. All these aspects of his life and work will be reflected in an evening of readings at Writers' Centre Norwich, Dragon Hall, King Street, Norwich on Thursday at 7pm. Writers taking part include Helen Macdonald, whose book H is for Hawk won the 2014 Costa book prize, Julia Blackburn, winner of the 2015 East Anglian Book Award, and Cambridge-based poet J.H. Prynne.
The event has been organized by Dr Jeremy Noel-Tod from the University of East Anglia's School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing.
