Writer Sarah Perry will be guest speaker for EDP-Jarrold book awards

Acclaimed writer Sarah Perry has been revealed as the guest speaker for the 2015 EDP-Jarrold East Anglian Book Awards.
The author of After Me Comes the Flood won the 2014 East Anglian Book of the Year award and has been long listed for the Guardian First Novel Award 2014 and the Folio Prize 2015.
She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway where she was supervised by Andrew Motion, and is a winner of the Shiva Naipaul Memorial Prize. In 2013, she was writer-in-residence at Gladstone’s Library.
Her second novel, The Essex Serpent, will be published by Serpent’s Tail in 2016.
This year’s East Anglian Book Awards presentation night will take place on Wednesday November 4 at The Pantry Restaurant, Floor 3, at Jarrold’s Norwich store.
Enjoy a two-course meal and coffee, and find out the winners of the six awards categories, outstanding contribution award and ‘Book by the Cover’ award. The evening highlight will be the announcement of the eighth East Anglian Book Awards overall ‘Book of the Year’ £1000 prize winner for 2015.
After an 6.30pm arrival for 7pm start, the meal and coffee will continue until 8.30pm when the presentations will begin. The evening is scheduled to finish around 9.45pm.
