A former Norfolk choir of the year will perform at the Whinburgh Music Festival this week.
Under its new musical director Duncan Barlow, the 25-strong Viva Voce choir is set to perform a wide variety of pieces under the title ‘Music for a Summer’s Evening’ at the event on Saturday 23 June at 7.30pm.
Mr Barlow, who was previously musical director at the Mid Norfolk singers is an experienced choral conductor and has held a number of roles at both Norwich High School and Norwich School.
Viva Voce was winner of the last BBC Radio Norfolk Choir of the year competition in 2011 and gives around five concerts a year to help raise money for charities across the county.
Whinburgh Music Festival was born in 2012 to try and raise funds to repair the roof at St Mary’s church in the village.
