With KFC branches up and down the county closed due to a problem with the delivery of their chicken, many fans of the fried dish have been left disappointed.

If you're looking to get your hands on some, here are five other places in the city where you can get your fill.

• Woolf & Social, Nelson Street

Woolf & Bird may have closed, but some of their popular fried chicken dishes can be found on the menu over at Woolf & Social, including chicken strips served with siracha-mayo. The restaurant prides itself on offering a new eating experience to the city and is the brainchild of Francis Woolf and Felix Rehberg.

• Gonzo's Tea Room, London Street

At Gonzo's the star of the show are the chicken wings, which come in an extensive range of weird and wonderful flavours, including Jamaican Jerk, Salt N' Peppa Chorizo, Teriyaki and Orange, Canadian Maple and Bacon, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Peanut Butter and Jelly and even Nutella.

• BrewDog, Queen Street

A range of chicken dishes are on offer at BrewDog, from chicken wings to southern fried chicken burgers and if you're feeling really decadent, why not stop by for brunch on the weekend and get yourself fried chicken, waffles, maple syrup and hot sauce.

• Alley Ole, Bridewell Alley

Ok, so it's not fried chicken, but this Pintxos and Pollo bar serves a mean rotisserie chicken, as well as a great range of tapas and cocktails. Prices are reasonable, with lunch deals available and you can choose from a quarter, half or whole chicken.

• Mambo Jambo/Zaks/Fatso's, various locations

When it comes to fried chicken, you're bound to find some at a Tex-Mex or American-themed establishment and these three all boast an impressive selection. Located on Lower Goat Lane, Mambo Jambo's menu has a chicken 'n ribs section, which features goujons and grilled chicken breasts with toppings such as sesame sauce, jack cheese, BBQ sauce and Cajun spice. Zaks American Diner on Barrack Street offers southern fried chicken, chicken and ribs, a chicken 'n' cheese melt and other combo meals, while Fatso's Speak-Easy on Salhouse Road sells chicken wings, fried chicken, grilled chicken, piri-piri chicken and more.
