There’s a cast of a thousand – and they’re all on song to celebrate Norfolk…

This year the show will feature one of its most adventurous projects to date – Showstoppers - a community mass choir to help celebrate everything that’s great about Norfolk!

Showstoppers will be the centrepiece to the show’s theme of “Celebrating the Arts” and the 1,000-strong choir will perform at the show’s closing ceremony in front of thousands of visitors and media.

The choirmaster will be Mark De-Lisser, from TV’s The Voice and a lead mentor on Gareth Malone’s “Naked Choir”.

Showstoppers will perform at the Grand Ring on Thursday, June 29 at 6pm.

Things Grow LYRICS

Words by Molly Naylor set to music by Cheryl Frances-Hoad

Verse 1

Think about the earth and what’s beneath your feet, think about the people, think about what’s underneath.

Yes soil! Yes dirt, Yes light, Yes work! With hope, we know, things change, things grow.

Verse 2

Follow the patterns of the seasons as they come, fall for the rain go barmy for the sun.

Yes soil! Yes dirt, Yes light, Yes work! With hope, we know, things change, things grow.

Verse 3

This earth we’re on is strange and old, it’s hard to understand it all, this Earth we’re on is strange and old, it’s hard to understand it all, but we can listen, and hear, and learn, and walk around, and pant things, and reach out, and share, and plant things, and reach out and share, and lend a hand. This earth’s a really massive place, but tiny when you’re out in space.

Yes soil! Yes dirt, Yes light, Yes work! With hope, we know, things change, things grow.

Verse 4

Walk under the sky and swim in everything, laugh at thunderstorms, shout and roar and sing, Shout! Rrrroar! And sing!

Yes soil! Yes dirt, Yes light, Yes work! With hope, we know, things change, things grow.

Verse 5

Be grateful for the green fields covered in hay bales, treasure all the beauty and the dirt under your nails.

Yes soil! Yes dirt, Yes light, Yes work! With hope, we know, things change, things grow.
