Framlingham's Ed Sheeran is not the only Suffolk artist celebrating a Christmas number one this festive season.

While Sheeran's Perfect current sits atop the UK Singles Chart, Lowestoft rockers The Darkness also have reason the celebrate, with a Christmas number one of their own.

After narrowly missing out on the top spot in 2003, the band's festive track 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)' has gone one better this year, reaching the summit of the UK Rock Chart.

The track, which was number two in the UK charts on original release, edged out Queen classic 'Thank God It's Christmas' as music shoppers get into the festive spirit.

The band celebrated the news on Twitter, sharing a screen shot of the top two.

Meanwhile, brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins appeared on the BBC's Pointless Celebrities Christmas special over the weekend.

However, the pair did not enjoy quite the same success, falling at the first hurdle.
