Eight hundred miles completed, three new tyres and 32 football grounds visited - two North Elmham brothers are a third of the way through their epic cycle challenge.

Phillip Milbourne, 31, and his brother Richard, 29, are pedalling their way round 94 top football grounds in England and Wales in aid of Breast Cancer Care and the British Liver Trust.

They set off on their two-wheeled adventure on July 27 and will finish on August 26 at Upton Park, home to West Ham United in London.

Their first week has seen them visit grounds including Norwich City's Carrow Road and Ipswich Road's Portman Road, and even Dereham's own Aldiss Park.

They have since headed up north and have taken in the Yorkshire cities of Leeds and Sheffield and are currently snaking their way through Humberside.

Their fundraising pot currently sits at £5,500, and with 1,500 miles yet to complete and 62 stadiums to tick off their listof grounds to visit, the duo are in a 'good spirits'.

They were inspired to take on the challenge to raise money for charities that helped their parents.

Their mother Lorna had breast cancer while their dad Andrew, a former headteacher at Dereham St Nicholas Junior School, underwent a liver transplant.

Their father Andrew, who is part of their support crew with them out on the road, said: 'They are doing very well, they have hit all of their targets and are on schedule.

'They have met a lot of fantastic people at the football clubs and they quite enjoyed the challenge of the hills near Leeds and Sheffield. It's a magnificent thing to do and we're really proud of them.'

The brothers have been joined enroute by friends and family and on Sunday were joined by world champion transplant cyclist Diana Higman and her daughter Jess.

They have set a fundraising target of £92,000 - £1,000 for each club they visit - and they are also raising awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register.

The coming days will see them visit Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City.
