Music fans keen to strut their stuff on the dancefloor have been flocking to soul and funk nights hosted at a north Norfolk village venue by a DJ performing under the moniker Funky Chicken.
The events, which run at the Belfry Centre for Music and Arts, at Overstrand, have gone from strength to strength since being held for the first time 18 months ago, with around 70 people now attending each session.
Keen to expand his repertoire, journalist-turned-DJ Paul Hensby, who lives in the village, now plans to add reggae floor-fillers to the soul and funk mix.
He said: "People love to dance to soul classics, as well as funk and disco tunes, but several people have asked me to include some ska, rocksteady and reggae tracks so, from now on, soul nights will have a reggae flavour too."
The next soul night runs at the Belfry Centre, Cromer Road, Overstrand, on Saturday (August 31) from 7.30pm-11pm. Tickets, priced £5, are available on the door. Licensed bar available. For more information, phone 01263 579196.
