They are famous for hits such as Memorabilia, Tainted Love, Torch and Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.
And now, Soft Cell are reuniting for their first live show in 15 years on September 30, which will also be their last ever live concert as a group.
The show is set to be broadcast live to cinemas worldwide, including the Central Cinema in Fakenham, where fans can watch as the legends of pop take to the 02 arena stage in London.
The live screenings of the sold out show are being organised by Event Cinema distributor More2Screen and will be broadcast in 5.1 surround sound audio and will be filmed in full HD with a comprehensive 13 camera set-up.
The group are also celebrating their 40th anniversary, as they prepare to ‘Say Hello and Wave Goodbye’ to their fans across the UK.
Soft Cell emerged from the electronic music scene in the UK in the 1980s and produced five albums of original material.
They debuted in 1981 with ‘Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret’ and ended with 2002’s ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’.
Ten of their tracks reached the UK Top 40 singles chart.
Their biggest song, a cover of ‘Tainted Love’, is strongly associated with the 1980s electronic music scene and saw the band have worldwide success.
The band is made up of duo Marc Almond and Dave Ball, who have also had successful solo careers in their own right.
Almond was awarded an Ivor Novello Inspiration Award in 2013, as well as an OBE this year’s New Year’s Honours List.
Ball went on to form The Grid, peaking with million selling international hit ‘Swamp Thing’, as well as working as a producer and writer for the likes of Kylie Minogue and remixer for David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Yello & The B-52’s.
The concert will start at 7.30pm and is set to run for nearly 3 hours. It has a 15 age rating due to it being live.
