The summer holidays for the majority of the British public are a time to kick back and relax on the beach.

However, for one theatre company it offers the opportunity to pack as many performances into one season as possible.

The Sheringham Little Theatre has announced that once again they will be hosting a five play summer.

Making a return to the cast is crowd favourite Kyle Fraser, who played the Tin Man in the group's Christmas show.

Reprising his role this summer, he'll be joined by Sarah Langton, Lauren Verrier and Steve Banks; the theatre marketing officer who is also an actor and appeared in last summer's season.

Other returnees are two actors who cut their teeth through the theatre's youth group, before qualifying at drama school.

Ryan Starling, from North Walsham has played a series of summer roles since qualifying in 2013, while Ollie Westlake, from Southrepps, is making his summer drama debut.

Newcomers are Emily Outred, John MacNeil, Matt Jamie and Naomi Bullock will have a lot to catch up on, as every member of the cast has only a few weeks to learn multiple roles.

Theatre director Debbie Thompson said: 'We auditioned 35 actors in London recently and choose a really strong 10. We like to have a blend of new faces and people with experience of our summer season.'

The 2018 summer drama line up is:

• Don't Dress for Dinner – a frenetic farce of multiple affairs and mistaken identity set in 1980s France by writer Marc Camoletti. July 26 – August 1.

• Double Trouble – Recently-widowed Phillipa enlists down and out Duncan to impersonate her late husband in a romantic thriller. August 3-8.

• Living Together – Librarian Norman's behaviour gets out of hand during a weekend at his sister-in-law's house – part of the Alan Ayckbourn Norman Conquests comedy trilogy. August 10-18.

• Wife Begins at Forty – Ray Cooney's madcap farce about midlife crisis amid George and Linda Harper's stale 17-year-old marriage. August 22-29.

• A Passionate Woman – Kay Mellor's gentle TV comedy drama about a mother reliving her long-lost youth. August 29 – September 5.

The summer directors will be Nick Earnshaw, who also does the panto, Jill King, Brendan Murray and Simon Thompson.
