Formerly known as the North Norfolk Chorale, singers from Norfolk Camerata will perform under their new name for the first time at a concert to mark the start of Advent.

The concert at North Walsham's St Nicholas Church will feature seasonal works by Michael Haydn, Orlando Gibbons and Ralph Vaughan Williams, along with a carol by contemporary composer Nick Morris.

Michael Haydn is younger brother of the better-known Joseph, but is said by some to have been the better singer of the two musicians.

Admission to the December 1 concert, starting at 7.30pm, is free, and there will be a retiring collection will be held in aid of the church and the Camerata's funds.

The Camerata is registered charity, which aims to educate the public about the performing arts and choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals. It was established under its previous name in North Walsham in 1873.
