World-renowned Polish cellist Marcin Zdunik wowed the crowds at this year’s King’s Lynn Festival.

The artist-in-residence performed at a coffee concert in the Town Hall before hosting an intimate music taster at the GroundWork Gallery in Purfleet Street.

In a packed room of more than 30 guests, Mr Zdunik performed a 30-minute set of several renditions of famous classic music.

He began with an improvisation of the Catalan folk song The Song of Birds, filling the studio with the deep, weighty sounds of the cello.

In between the music he joked with the audience, stating that for a main dish he would serve up Bach.

After his performance members of the audience were able to chat with the cellist in a drinks reception held at the venue.

It is one of four events Mr Zdunik is scheduled to perform in during the festival, with his final performance to take place on Saturday, July 28 with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
