Norwich favourites Magoo celebrate the release of their long-awaited new album “The All Electric Amusement Arcade” this Saturday at Norwich Arts Centre.

The boy-girl five-piece have recently been busy supporting the likes of Ash, Snow Patrol, The Delgados, and Mogwai, and have previously released tracks on labels including Glasgow's coolest Chemikal Underground, Fierce Panda, Elefant and Global Warming.

They've also built a following through seven Peel sessions, XFM A-list plays, a high profile slot at Glastonbury and a Radio 1 Live in Newcastle.

But since their last long player “Realist Week” in 2002 and EP “Pop Songs” in 2005, they have been beavering away at new material at their own Sickroom Studios.

Schizophrenic, stylish and often ahead of their time, the band move between electronic beats, vocoded vocals, dreamy synths and looped sound-bites, all the way to feed-back wailing, riff-ridden noise rock.

To give you an idea of their dolly-mix of sounds, they've been influenced by the likes of Guided by Voices, Stereolab, Pavement and The Flaming Lips.

The night kicks off at 8pm with support from local lo-fi electro-pop heroes Alto45 and Casio-laden summer-infused pop courtesy of Fonda 500.
