A woman from Diss will be playing Latitude's Inbetweeners Stage on Saturday July 14.
Suffolk’s Latitude Festival kicks off in July with a stellar line-up including The Killers, Wolf Alice, Alt-J, The Vaccines and Solange.
As well as hosting well-known artists, Latitude also provides a space for up-and-coming musicians to take to the stage.
Lucy Pearson, a producer, writer and singer from near Diss, will be performing a set on the Inbetweeners Stage – a venue that at one time hosted Ed Sheeran.
“I’m so excited for my set at Latitude”, she said, “It’s always been a bit of a struggle to work out my live set up, with my backing music being quite full arrangements, but I’m practicing incorporating production elements”.
Miss Pearson, 24, recently started working at Access Creative College in Norwich, tutoring and advising the Music Production students. She started her musical career at a young age and does everything from her small home studio.
“I started out when I stumbled across GarageBand on my dad’s computer when I was around 9/10. I was blown away by the idea that I could use a program to write my own songs and I’ve been absolutely hooked by it since.”
The young artist studied Music Production at the University of Suffolk, and since leaving has been working on building up her repertoire and working with as many other artists and producers as possible.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to perform at a festival I’ve been going to since I was 16”, she said.
Latitude 2018 takes place from Thursday July 12 to Sunday July 15 in Henham Park, Suffolk. More information can be found on the Latitude 2018 website here.
