If the thought of doing exercise makes you recoil, a Norfolk fitness instructor may have the perfect solution for you.

Mr Dod, aka Kévin d'Odémont, is launching Laughter Yoga in Norwich on Monday, March 19.

Developed by Indian physician Madan Kataria in 1995, the class is a way to 'support mental health through laughter exercises'.

.

Mr Dod says he will be teaching attendees how to laugh like never before using breathing techniques and playful child-like activities.

The launch event, taking place at City Academy in Norwich from 7pm, is free to attend.

Classes will then take place each week on Monday evenings, costing £6.

Mr Dod added: 'Laughter Yoga is very exciting for Norwich, it's a unique concept where you do not need jokes to laugh.

'Not only do you burn calories with this class, but it's also good for stress relief and will make you more confident and focused!'

Other quirky yoga classes

Laughter yoga isn't the first quirky exercise class trend to take off. Across the UK there are several other unique yoga groups taking place. Here's a look at some of the most interesting:

• Beer Yoga

Beer Yoga involves drinking a pint while in warrior pose and promises to clear the mind and focus the senses. Cheers to that!

• Doga

Doga, or dog yoga, is a fitness class that encourages pet owners to bring their pooch along with them. The class was created by Mahny Djajanguiri in 2012, who says that the dog eventually absorbs their owner's calm and synchronises into poses with them.

• Harry Potter Yoga

Wannabe witches and wizards have been able to take their love of J. K. Rowling's fantasy series to the next level with Hogwarts-inspired yoga classes, with poses including Slytherin Cobra and Reverse Wizard.
