King’s Lynn Festival begins its two-week jam-packed programme with a day of free outdoor entertainment.

On Sunday, July 15, the Tuesday Market Place will be abuzz with jazz, African drummers, ukuleles, choral music and Morris dancing from 11am.

Anna Mudeka and her drummers and dancers, The Visibles and the 16 musicians of Springwood Jazz Band will provide a wide variety of entertainment.

King’s Morris will give a display as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, and the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding will be joined by dozens of West Norfolk schoolchildren for their performance.

The King’s Lynn Festival Chorus will give visitors a taste of what’s to come as they are set to perform at St Nicholas’ Chapel on Tuesday, July 17.

The free gig will take place just hours before the opening concert by the Halle Orchestra in the nearby Corn Exchange.
