Gorleston Theatre Company will be putting on a production of a Hollywood hit.

The company will perform Ladies in Lavender, based on the screenplay from the film starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, and on the original short story by William J. Locke.

Taking place in pre-war England, Ladies in Lavender tells the tale of aging sisters Ursula and Janet Widdington, who live peacefully in their cottage in a close-knit fishing village on the shores of Cornwall, in 1937.

One morning following a violent storm, a handsome and talented young Polish violinist bound for America is washed ashore, and the Widdington sisters take him under their wing and nurse him back to health. However, the presence of the mysterious young man disrupts their peaceful lives and the community in which they live.

Ladies in Lavender is at the Pavilion Theatre, Gorleston on Friday 19th October at 7:30pm and Saturday 20th October at 2pm and 7:30pm. Tickets £10.
