Are you struggling to come up with fun ways to keep the kids entertained during the long summer break?

Fear not - The Fisher Theatre in Bungay has organised a host of activities perfect for children of all ages during July and August.

Programming manager Laila France said: “We hope that there is something for everyone, and that the activities might bring some inspiration and fun to what can sometimes seem like a very long holiday.”

First up is the ‘How we used to live’ project, which is run in conjunction with Dramatic Impact.

The project, on July 25, 26 and 28, allows children aged 11 to 18 years-old to share time, stories and experience with older members of the community.

It is supported by Waveney District Council and can only accommodate a small number of participants - so book now to avoid disappointment.

Next up, on July 29 and September 2, is ‘Junk Modelling’ with Cinema and Create.

The days offer three-years-olds and above the chance to get creative at Bungay Castle - building miniature castles or whatever else they desire.

On August 3 it’s all about the Carl and Dave Comedy Magic show where the magical duo provide entertainment for all the family will illusions and fun.

Following on from this; renowned special FX make-up artist Tracy Hilsum will be visiting from Australia where she trains people to work in film and TV.

During a three-hour workshop children can learn to create cuts, bruises and burns.

After the success of the theatre’s Alice in Wonderland production at Bungay Castle last year it will be putting on ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ on August 11 and 12.

The family adventure beneath the surface of the earth features puppetry, colourful characters, comedy and excitement and is sure to be non-stop fun.

Finally on August 15 the Foolhardy Circus return to the theatre to provide the colour and fun of the circus with a workshop and show.

A fisher theatre spokesman said: “Children come in droves to this event so book quickly so as not miss out.”
