LORNA MARSH

A brass band concert to raise money for East Anglian children's hospices is being held on July 15.

Hellesdon and Sprowston Brass Band are to perform the concert at St Catherine's Church, Mile Cross on Saturday July 15 and Lord Bishop of Norwich the Right Reverend Graham James will attend.

It will feature music from theatre and films and all the proceeds will go to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (Each).

Rachael Barber, of event sponsors Gordon Barber Funeral Directors, said: “We all see the wonderful support that Each gives to children and their families in very difficult situations and we wanted to help them in as practical a way as possible, the entire costs are being sponsored by our company so all proceeds will go to Each.”

The evening will follow the annual fete at the church which celebrates its 70th anniversary at Mile Cross this year.

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets priced at £4 for adults and £2 for children are available from the church, Gordon Barber Funeral Directors and Prelude Records, St Giles Street, Norwich

Fair trade refreshments will be available in the interval.
