The Broads have a long and rich history of attracting tourism from far and wide.

Nicola Hems, curator of The Museum of The Broads, said that wealthy people in particular have always enjoyed the waterways for fishing, sailing, and shooting.

She explains that it wasn’t until the early 1880s, however, that large amounts of tourist had access to The Broads via new railway travel.
