It is a fine city with two fine universities.
And while high interest in studying at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) has been a major success story for the city, today’s story about disruption caused by students shows downsides.
Some of the students take issue with with criticisms that they are making nearby residents’ lives a misery with late-night noise, and rubbish. It is also encouraging to see that some students have taken the concerns seriously and offered to try and make amends with a litter pick on Sunday.
Yet while we want to encourage young people to study here and enjoy all the opportunities Norwich has to offer, that privilege of being in one of the best cities comes with a responsibility to behave and treat others with respect.
