It's Mothers' Day on March 11. From art to a zip-wire race, and from handmade cards to big days out, here are 10 ways to treat mum

1 Make a card. Handmade and homemade are what mums really love from their small sons and daughters (and from adult sons and daughters too, especially if accompanied by additional treats.)

2 There is a free primrose for every mum enjoying a Mothering Sunday walk at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, near Acle. 4 Have an Anglo-Saxon Mothers Day at Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge. Although the Anglo-Saxons didn't celebrate Mother's Day as we know it, there are plenty of fascinating facts to discover about motherhood. The burial mounds provided a wealth of information when they were excavated. Treat your mum to a day of discovery and give her a hand-tied flower posy in exchange for a donation to Sutton Hoo. 5 Mums can take on their children at zip-wire races at Bewilderwood, near Hoveton, on Mothering Sunday. Mums with an accompanying child get in free to explore tree top walkways, get lost in the maze, whizz down slides and fly through the air on the zip wires.
