Having come back from their two-week winter break the lads should have returned fully refreshed and raring to go for what is now a 13-game season for Norwich City.

Forget what's happened in the previous 25 there's nothing that you can do about those, however focus on the remaining games and give it everything to try and win the 20 or so points that is needed to keep your Premier League status for another season.

I've been to two games at Carrow Road this season and Norwich have won both. I guess I'm a bit of a lucky charm for the lads!

I'll be there tomorrow evening as fortunately I'm working at the Hull v Swansea game tonight which means I'm off tomorrow and my good friend Hucks has kindly given me a couple of his season tickets to go to the game.

I've been a Liverpool supporter since I saw them beat Newcastle 3-0 in the 1974 FA Cup final, I was five at the time!

Tomorrow I'll be rooting for the Canaries as their need is far greater than Liverpool's at this moment in time.

They've a 22-point lead over second-placed Manchester City and they are not throwing that away any time soon.

The first game my parents took me to Anfield was Liverpool v Norwich way back in August 1976, a game Liverpool won with super Stevie Heighway scoring the only goal.

Who would have thought back on that August afternoon that I would in later years play over 300 games for the team wearing yellow that day.

It's funny that even though I was a Liverpool fan the goal I scored against them for Leicester back in December 1994 gave me as much pleasure as any of the other goals I'd scored in my career.

My good mate David James, who'd I'd played with at Watford, was in goal for them and it was nice to pop one past him even if we did end up losing the game 2-1.

I saw some special Liverpool teams in the 70s and 80s, they dominated domestically and were feared throughout Europe winning four European Cups between 1977 and 1984. I think it's fair to say that this team that Jurgen Klopp has built over the past four and a bit years has to be right up there with the best.

They are one of, if not the, fittest teams in the league. They have to be to play the way that Klopp wants them to.

Their work rate is ridiculous, add that to the talent and the quality that they have in abundance and it's easy to see that they are within touching distance from winning their first Premier League title.

As I said at the start of this column, I've been to two games at Carrow Road this season and one of them is a game that I will never forget as I'm sure any Norwich fan that was there back on September 14.

Defending champions Manchester City came to town and we all feared the worst, it was a matter of how many will Pep's men score!

How wrong we all were and how the lads proved everyone wrong by putting on one of the best performances ever witnessed at Carrow Road.

The atmosphere that day was electric and I get the feeling it's going to be just as loud come tomorrow evening.

Can the boys put on another unbelievable performance in front of their own loyal supporters, one that would shock the footballing world, one which would surely surpass that fantastic victory over Manchester City back in September?

I hope so.
