Car fanatics and enthusiasts were treated to a spectacle this bank holiday weekend as they came together for a car show.

More than 200 classic and vintage cars were booked in for the popular event which takes place in the scenic walled gardens of the Elveden Estate.

For the last five years Lord and Lady Iveagh have opened their estate for the show, which is organised by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children's (NSPCC) west Suffolk branch and the Bury Abbey Rotary Club.

Organiser Richard Curtis said: 'It was a fantastic day, we had thousands of people come by and we won't know for sure how many until we have counted up the money we have raised.

'We would love to thank the members of the public for their generosity and we think this might be a record year.'

Money raised will be split between the NSPCC and local charities supported by the rotary club.

Last year Bury St Edmunds Rotary Club, who organised the event, raised more than £20,000 and it is through events like the classic car show that they hope to smash the target this year.
