Prepare to be dazzled, prepare to be educated (and prepare to excite your tastebuds) because the Royal Norfolk Show is back.

On June 27 and 28, the great and the good of the county will descend on Norfolk Showground for the hottest ticket of the year.

There are too many highlights to list here. The thrills of the Adrenaline Tour Quad Bike stunt team in the new Grand Ring. Exploring in the new woodland area. Farming, livestock and equine shows.

Not to mention the fact it's one of the best places to eat al fresco in Norfolk.

This year organisers promise more bounty than ever before for foodie visitors – from over 14 cookery-related demonstrations on the Norfolk's Growing Stage, to dozens of producers in the Adnams Food and Drink Experience. That's not to mention the fact some foodie parts of the show are open until 10pm on Wednesday, meaning you can enjoy your day, and stay for dinner!

Mark Nicholas, show and programmes director says the stage is set to showcase all that Norfolk and the region has to offer when it comes to food and drink. 'Norfolk has much to shout about when it comes to cookery and food and drink produce. This year showgoers will find new content and topping the programmes will be a number of fresh faces as well as top chefs. We are thrilled to introduce a fascinating line-up of presenters and demonstrators at our new Norfolk Growing Stage and at the Art of Butchery and Fishmongery stage. The popular Adnams Food and Drink Experience will be packed with 100 local producers and we have introduced the Flavours Food Hub to cater for additional demand. This year's cookery and food content is fresh, strong and inspiring.'

Here are just five reasons to drop everything and get yourself to the show this year.

1. There's a brand new Norfolk's Growing Stage in the horticultural show, with chef demonstrations from Roger Hickman, Andrew Jones of The Dial House and Farmyard Restaurant, Mo Johansen of Elveden Courtyard, and Ian McCarten of The Last Wine Bar. Expect plot to pot cooking (tying in with the show's field to fork theme this year) and sessions ranging from growing herbs with Ollie Wilkins of Houghton Hall, to making plant-based cheese using flowers and herbs, with free-from recipe writer Sara Matthews.

2. A new Flavours Food Hub has been created in the retail area, spawned by the popularity of the food and drink hall. Find 20 exciting producers here and sample their wares.

3. Brush up on essential skills with The Art of Butchery in the Adnams Food and Drink Experience, where there will also be this year The Art of Fishmongery. See what goes on behind the scenes of local butchers and fishmongers, learn how to prepare meat and fish, and put your questions to the pros. Making appearances are Norfolk Quail, Davies Fish Shop, Jimmy's Farm, Archers Butchers and Walsingham Farm Shop. At the end of each day there'll be a meat box auction with proceeds to this year's charities RABI and EACH.

4. Support Norfolk purveyors of cheese, bread, oils, pickles, cakes, wine and more in the incredible Adnams Food and Drink Experience food hall. HSBC have teamed up with the show to help smaller producers afford to exhibit this year, and the bank is also offering a few food crèche to keep your purchases fresh as a daisy. Names appearing in the food hall include Nuoi Foods (with their all-natural nut butters), Norfolk Charcuterie, award-winning Flint Vineyard, and Candi's Chutney.

5. Have a drink and a knees-up at Jimmy's Festival in the Woodland Arena. Woodforde's Brewery is hosting the bar, and there'll be a line-up of great music from 6pm to 9.30pm, including Olivia Watson, Karolina and Big Sing Band.
