Plans have been submitted to build 14 new houses in a South Norfolk village together with a new public green space, play area and access to the historic church.
Developers Pennygate Properties want to build a mixture of five-bedroom detached, four-bed semi-detached, three-bed terrace and two-bed houses on land off The Street in Flordon, near Tasburgh.
Plans submitted to South Norfolk Council envisage the homes surrounding a new village green and play area for under-fives, with retained wildlife areas including a woodland walk.
The land is owned by the applicant, Pat London, and was originally farmed by her father, George Fincham, for over 50 years, forming part of Orchard Farm.
The proposals also include new footpaths and a new lychgate to St Michaels and All Angels church that would be a "focal point within the village".
The planning submission states: "Establishing a village green and open space as the centre of this proposal turns a previous inaccessible piece of scrubland into a significant village hub."
