A new residential development in Holt will meet some of the demand for affordable homes, North Norfolk District Council's cabinet member for housing, Richard Price said.

The Heath Farm scheme will create 162 homes for open market sale and 51 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership.

Mr Price said: 'I welcome the additional affordable homes that it will provide for our community.

'The council is focused on improving the number of affordable homes; we know there are 841 households on the housing list for Holt and 76 households have an urgent housing need and this scheme will go some way to meeting that demand.'

Construction started at Lovell's new development in April and the first new homes will be on sale by the end of 2017. The overall housing scheme is due to be completed in 2023.

Lovell is also building a new access road to Hempstead Road.
