After an even start Cambridge were awarded a penalty in the 37th minute after a foul by Jake Imrie but Elliott Pride got down well to make a great save from Lucas Kirkpatrick. Four minutes later Dereham took the lead when Dion Frary's deep free-kick was headed across goal to Toby Hilliard who struck the bar but Shaun Wones was on hand to net the rebound.
Cambridge drew level in the 52nd minute when Matt Sparrow's cross was headed out to Adam Watkins on the edge of the box and he netted with a superb volley.
Meanwhile Great Yarmouth Town picked up their first win of the season in Division One of the Thurlow Nunn when they beat Mulbarton Wanderers 4-0 at The Wellesley (Ollie Whittaker, Tom Hunter, Chris Holmes, Spencer Cawcutt pen).
