A popular singer-songwriter will be bringing Babylon to Thetford Forest this year following the latest act to be confirmed for the Forestry Commission's live summer tour.

A popular singer-songwriter will be bringing Babylon to Thetford Forest this year following the latest act to be confirmed for the Forestry Commission's live summer tour.

David Gray, who has a home in North Norfolk, has today announced a brace of gigs in two woodland locations in July.

The influential artist, who has had three number one UK albums, is set to play at High Lodge Visitor Centre, near Brandon, on Friday July 10.

The performer is twice winner of the prestigious Ivor Novello Award - in 2001 for his breakthrough single Babylon and again in 2003 for the single The Other Side.

David Gray has also won a GQ Award for Best Solo Artist in 2002, a Q Award for Best Single in 2001 and nominated twice for Best Male at the Brit Awards, alongside a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2002. He will also be releasing a new studio album later this year.

Tickets will be available from 9am on Friday and will cost �31.50 (subject to booking fee) from the EDP24 Shop (www.edp24.co.uk, plus the Forestry Commission box office on 01842 814612 and www.forestry.gov.uk/music.

The Paul Weller gig at Thetford Forest on June 5 has already sold out, but tickets are still available for Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on June 6 and Sugababes on Saturday July 11th. Two more acts are set to be confirmed in the near future.
