Mere Players will give a presentation for their production in January 2013 at Diss Junior School Hall on September 9 at 2pm.

Cindy-Ella is the traditional Cinderella story but set in 1960s America. All the usual panto ingredients are there: the cruel cross-dressing Ugly Sisters, the Good Fairy, the Demon King, the magic mice, audience participation and a shed load of bad jokes, but all dressed up in jeans and circle skirts and pretending to be Grease.

Also, there's a score packed with pastiche '60s-style numbers written especially for the show.

Celia Baker, of Mere Players, said: 'This is a pantomime that's almost a musical. It's a high-energy, high-camp romp through two genres that are more closely related than you might think and, most importantly, good fun.'
