Renewable energy veteran joins board of growing energy services group
A wind industry veteran has joined the board of an expanding energy sector services group in Norfolk.
Julian Brown, chairman of RenewableUK, will join 3sun Group as a non-executive director and will work with chief executive Graham Hacon on its strategy for future growth and international development.
The Great Yarmouth company, which employs more than 300 people, has recently expanded its operations in Denmark and is currently recruiting to train around 70 new staff.
In the past two years its business – including installation, inspection and maintenance – has grown from a 50/50 split between renewables and oil and gas, to 85% renewables.
Mr Brown, co-founder and director of technical consultancy 8.2 Aarufield and former head of Areva Wind in the UK, said 3sun’s versatility would help it to grow.
“3sun is an excellent example of the profile of company I would like to be involved in,” he said.
“Reputations are hard-earned and quickly lost. I hope to be part of securing and continuing to develop that.”
