The reserve currently has 49 flamingos, after adding two groups of birds to the 25 they held the year before. Last month, the park also announced the birth of three baby red squirrels.

A spokesperson for Pensthorpe said: "Our first Flamingo Fiesta was all about getting people to enjoy and learn more about these graceful and social birds.

"The weather over the weekend was glorious, and the flamingos loved basking in their tropical lagoon-inspired home, enjoying a dip in the water. It was wonderful seeing lots of children arriving at Pensthorpe, dressed in their pink flamingo clothes and taking in our resident birds up close."
