A partner in a regional construction consultancy has raised more than £3,000 for charity after taking part in a gruelling 1,500km bike ride.

Simon Jacklin, senior partner at Daniel Connal Partnership, which has offices in Norwich and Colchester, took part in the Legal & General Real Assets Club Peloton Cycle to MIPIM bike ride.

He was fundraising for Coram, a charity which works with children who are adopted or fostered.

The relay-style challenge, involving more than 180 riders, took him from London to Cannes in the south of France.

Mr Jacklin said: “As a keen cyclist, I was excited by the physical and mental challenge while raising money for a worthwhile cause.

“There were high and lows during the ride but the teamwork and camaraderie between my team and the stunning scenery meant that the highs outweighed the lows.”
