The pub in Norwich Road has made calls to customers to inform them bookings have been cancelled and posted a sign in its front door declaring the eatery 'Closed until further notice'.

However, the owners of the pub says the building has a 'bright' future, with new landlords already lining up to take the building on.

James Sawrey-Cookson is one of two people who own the Kings Head building as part of a self-invested personal pension (SIPP).

Mr Sawrey-Cookson and his business partner had leased the building to its current tenants, overseen by manager Mark Bridges.

Mr Sawrey-Cookson said: 'We already have a number of interested parties, both in taking on the leasehold or buying the freehold entirely from us.

'We are keen to hear from anyone who would be interested in taking on the pub and believe it has a very bright future.'
