It is 70 years since engineer and relentless innovator Colin Chapman built the first Lotus car.

The company is now a worldwide name, with tens of thousands of cars on the road, dozens of Formula One racing successes and two James Bond films in its portfolio. Its innovations in racing technology have helped it to create an elite set of road cars, which have been tested in Norfolk at its Hethel headquarters for more than 50 years.

To mark its anniversary the company will be holding a special event at Hethel – which has been its home since 1966 and seen massive expansion over the decades – for some 8,000 guests, including staff and their families.

Here, you can test your knowledge of one of Norfolk’s most famous exports.
