Hundreds of jobs will be up for grabs at an employment fair organised by the Department for Work and Pensions.

The Jobcentre Plus team will be hosting the event at the Norwich jobcentre, at Kiln House on Pottergate, on Wednesday from 10am to 1pm with more than 35 employers in attendance.

Among those will be businesses such as Bernard Matthews, Marks & Spencer, Minster Cleaning, Nationwide, Primark and Tarmac as well as agencies such as Contract Personnel.

Stephen Lankester, senior leader at Jobcentre Plus, said:

“The event is open to anyone in search of a new job, and we’re expecting a really good turnout.

“There are a great variety of jobs on offer which should suit anyone looking for work.

“I would encourage everyone to join us.”

Unemployment figures rose slightly in the East of England from November to January with 132,000 out of work.
