One of the region's largest hauliers has fitted out its fleet with in-cab cameras which have already helped to resolve an accident.

Fakenham-based Jack Richards has invested in putting FleetSense systems in its 33-strong Palletways fleet to help protect drivers.

The company said it had already benefited from its investment with a lorry involved in an accident shortly after the cameras were installed. The other party disputed the blame until video evidence resolved the matter.

Jack Richards depot principal Dominic Purslow said: 'I recognised the need and value to fit vehicles with cameras that can collect evidence in the event of a driving-related issue or collision, as well as protect us against spurious and even malicious insurance claims.'

He added: 'We take the personal security of our most valued asset – our drivers – extremely seriously so installing in-cab cameras was an obvious requirement.'
