The wintry weather gripping East Anglia has caused the cancellation of an event on Industry 4.0 for the region’s business community.

The Innovate UK in the East of England event, supported by TechEast, was due to be held at Adastral Park near Ipswich on Tuesday.

But the weather front known as the Beast from the East led organisers to cancel the event – with promises that it will be rescheduled “at the earliest opportunity”.

On Monday afternoon the Met Office issued an overnight amber warning of snow for Suffolk and north Essex, with Greater Anglia already having given notice that it would run a reduced service on Tuesday.

A note to delegates from Innovate UK (Knowledge Transfer Network) said: “We do not want to put anyone at risk due to the poor weather. Nor do we want to inconvenience people struggling to attend or to run an event that may be incomplete because our speakers are delayed or unable to attend.”
