A fresh drive has been made to boost the region’s food industry with the launch of a meet the buyer event.

Local Flavours will give food producers from Norfolk the chance to champion their wares and secure fresh deals, according to organisers.

It is being held at Honingham Thorpe Farms, home of the Norfolk Food Hub, on Tuesday, September 10.

The event was announced yesterday at the Federation of Small Businesses stand at the Royal Norfolk Show where the importance of buying locally was celebrated.

And the FSB used the occasion to raise awareness of the importance of inspiring the next generation of business leaders.

Valerie Watson-Brown, director of the food preservation firm Freshpod, who has driven the project with Anglia Farmers, said Norfolk food businesses need to shout louder about their products in order to improve their orders both at home and abroad.
