Norfolk farmer Malcolm Stammers’ vintage tractor collection to be auctioned
A “stunning” collection of vintage tractors amassed by a retired Norfolk farmer will go under the hammer at a rescheduled auction next weekend.
The dispersal sale of the Malcolm Stammers collection was originally due to be held on March 3 at the Angel Inn in Larling, but was postponed.
It will now take place from 10am on Saturday March 17 at Camp Farm in Roudham, near Thetford, by invitation of fellow collector Paul Rackham Ltd.
Mr Stammers was an avid tractor collector and a keen supporter of the Boxing Day Larling Angel Vintage Tractor Road Run, which has raised more than £100,000 for charities since it started more than 20 years ago.
The 600 lots at the auction include more than 50 restored tractors and vehicles, as well as items from other vendors and collectors.
Highlights include a 1948 single-cylinder Field Marshall Series 2 Contractors Mk2 that worked in Norfolk all its life, and a 1959 John Deere 730 diesel.
The sale is organised by Peter Love, of Tractor and Machinery and Classic Tractor magazines, in conjunction with auctioneers H J Pugh & Co. Viewing is on Friday from 2pm-5pm. For more details contact Howard Pugh on 01531 631122 or see the H J Pugh & Co website.
