A coastal tractor run near Great Yarmouth has raised £1,877.64 for breast cancer reconstruction support charity Keeping Abreast.

Organisers Philip and Lynn Page, from Pages Farm in Scratby, thanked the 40 tractor drivers for completing the 18-mile round trip on November 19 through Caister on Sea, Ormesby, Filby, Fleggburgh, Rollesby, Martham, West Somerton, Winterton, and Hemsby, returning to Scratby.

Mr Page added: 'Thank you also for all the support from local villages who kindly donated en route, the family and friends who turned out on the day and gave generously, the people who helped organise, and also volunteers who helped set up the refreshments, gave their time and donations of equipment, and food. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day.'

Elsewhere, a fund-raising fun quiz held at the Flixton Buck by Waveney Valley farmers Phillip Kidner and Gerald Godfrey raised £600 for the Fire Fighters Charity.

The 60 competitors included a retired and a retained firefighter, and the proceeds were handed over at Harleston Fire Station to a representative of the charity, which helps front-line emergency crews with rehabilitation, recuperation and injuries, as well as offering support to their families.
