With stretches of breathtaking coastline, a rich history, flourishing independent businesses and booming attractions, Norfolk is well and truly a holiday hotspot.

And whether it's the accommodation that has become a home away from home, a family-favourite day out or a holiday packed with fond memories, we want to know what, and who, makes tourism in the county so special to you.

This weekend, we launch the EDP Hoseasons Tourism Awards 2016, our annual celebration of those who make Norfolk so desirable to both those who call it home and those visiting from further afield.

With categories ranging from Best Independent Hotel to Outstanding Contribution, there is plenty of scope to attract more nominations than ever before. As an industry, tourism is worth nearly £3billion to the local economy, supporting 59,000 jobs which is why Archant, publisher of the EDP, has for the last 12 years, with the support of key commercial partners, organised the annual tourism awards.

This year's 13th awards ceremony will showcase and celebrate all that is great about the industry and provide those involved a chance to network, meet industry leaders, share stories and their successes.

Bob Crawley, director of content at Archant, said: 'The awards are a brilliant opportunity to celebrate Norfolk's thriving tourism industry and those working tirelessly to safeguard its future. It is thanks to so many behind the scenes that the county maintains its reputation as an exciting destination for a holiday, weekend break or day out.

'Now is your chance to highlight our tourism gems – and we would encourage as many people to nominate as possible.'

Nominations are now open - and will remain so until Saturday, August 13, when a shortlist will be put together, which our judges will whittle down to our finalists.

A glittering ceremony with a drinks reception sponsored by Paul Robinson Partnership will then be held in November at Potters Resort.
